for a friend

A friend asked me to make her a really nice sympathy card. This is a challenge because I don't normally fru fru up sympathy cards. But I embossed it and added some bling. She loved it, so all is well!

I have to say that I have enjoyed my little blog vacation. but it is time to return! I am just as happy to be back. hope you enjoy the little things I bring.

Scott and the boys went to Houston for his dad's birthday, and I was to sick to go too. So I stayed home, and when I started to feel some better, got pretty productive.

I got this as a hostess reward, level 2, and never did anything with it. So I thought I would put it up! fun times!
This is it from across the room....

I love it. You should come over and see it in person. I was worried that it wouldn't work on textured walls, but it did just fine!

I am in search of a really cute valentine project, and will let you know should I find one.

Look what UPS just dropped off!

stamp club

My mom wanted some frames for Grand kid pictures to take to work, so I made her some for Christmas out of foam and the Big Shot. They turned out so cute and were so fun, and easy to make, that I plan to make these at Stamp Club next Monday. So, bring a photo or two! Dana said she would love to make these at club. The foam is sticky on the back, in case you need to know. I looked for magnet strips, and don't have any, but you are welcome to add that later.

attitude of grattitude

Raise your hand if you have heard me tell my thank you note stories...you can skip to the end. For the rest of you, I will tell you why Thank You notes are so important. First it is nice to be appreciated, and if someone gave you a gift, you should be appreciative. Second, it acknowledges receipt of the gift, which if the person is out of town, it is very important. Third, it is good manners. and finally, a thankful heart is a happy heart.
As a child, my mom would never let me play with, put away, or do anything with a gift until I had written the thank you note. As a kid, this got old, but as I got older, I really appreciated that discipline. Well, this year I didn't do so well. I didn't keep up with things like I should, and I found myself scrambling to remember who, what, when, and where. Add that to the fact I was two weeks late on getting started...and wow... wish my mom still told me what to do!
Anyway, I made three different cards to send for thank yous. This is the plainest, I like it, but my mom and scott weren't impressed. can't make everyone happy.
I will show you the others later.
