too cute

So, Kayla said she was going to get some rectangle chipboard to make these. So since I had some rectangle chip board, I thought I would go ahead and make my own!
This is using the small book basics (you get 4 for $5.95, and they measure 5 X 7.5) and the Washington Apple designer papers. I am loving the new papers. I also used a jumbo clip to attach the note pad. I stamped random pages in tangerine tango and riding hood red with the eastern blooms set. I added the new ribbon to the clip, and one of the S A B rub ons to the bottom. too fun and cute, thanks Kayla for the idea.

I really do not know how I stay so busy doing nothing, but I do.
I put this together REAL fast, bc I said I would do something.
I plan to have more time tomorrow. Today I got things together for mom's move to waco!
I Love the new pocket silhouettes, I love the new punch, and I LOVE the new ribbon. Fun stuff!

Back to School

Wow! What a great week!
So much to be thankful for.
Mom's house is SOLD! Well, there are people who made an offer, and she accepted. The rest is yet to come. O, by the way, big estate sale in Mexia! ;)
My boys go back to school tomorrow! YAY! Many people think I will be sad to send my little Jeremiah off to kindergarten, to which I say, DO YOU KNOW HIM? He is a sweet and dear child, but he needs to be in school. He needs to learn, and explore, be fed. Jonathan however needs to be with people. So school is a good thing. And Jeremiah has already figured out the best part, at 3:30 we will all be happy to be together! So, that will be my goal, getting everything done before they get out, so that when they are out I can focus on them. Wouldn't that be nice? I think so.
Well, we are blessed enough to have gotten the two teachers we really wanted! Jeremiah will be in Mrs. Humphrey's class, bless her soul. And Jonathan has Mrs. Prittchet. So I made a little something to start the year off. Mom thinks I will need to make JT's teacher something every week! These are the little books, and I put chipboard letters on the front, and lots of ribbon. I love the new in color ribbon, it ties so pretty. I used the mark the date stamp set to make a calendar page for each month, September through June. There isn't much room to write on the calendar, but it will serve as a reference and there are two blank pages per month. I stamped those pages with images from the Eastern Blossoms set. I had a ton of fun making these books. I hope the ladies enjoy them. I really hope that the ladies enjoy my boys.
Well, I am off and running, lots to do today, the day before school starts back! I am also taking Krista to Dallas to see the AI concert. So in the morning when you see me dragging down the hall at Spring Valley, it is my own fault! But at least I will be in Texas. The first day of Jonathan's kindergarten I was in Indy seeing Clay Aiken!
Have a happy back to school week!

hair today, gone tomorrow

Check out Stampin' Up!'s new card kit! I love it! You can make three each of theses cards, with left overs! It comes with card stock, designer papers, ribbon, buttons, and stickies!

Back to school means lots of things to lost of people.
for us, it means time to get your hair cut. My boys enjoy growing out their hair over the summer, but Midway dress code rules prohibit them from wearing their hair the way they'd like. So we went to Nicole's yesterday to get our back to school cuts. I took the first pictures at Nicole's yesterday, and the second set here today, but oddly enough, Jonathan is wearing a guitar shirt in both and Jeremiah is wearing camo in both. I guess that isn't too odd, but I got a kick out of it! I used the card kit to make these pages! fun huh?

I have really had a lot of fun with this technique. I am excited about doing it for stamp club.
I know this scan doesn't show the pink card stock well, it looks white, but it is really pretty.
I still can't decide which I like better.

what have I been doing?

a friend wanted me to make her some purses for her home and garden business, to use as a booking game I believe. so after looking for a pattern, and trying to find something for her, I remembered Lindsey's bag! Thank goodness. I didn't go all out, just plain and simple, and she liked them. so this morning, I made 25!

a first attempt

I wanted to make a stained glass card for stamp club Monday. And even though these are much prettier in person, they still need some tweaking. But at least you know the direction I am headed!
This Monday will be our last Stamp Club for this group. Several have mentioned to me that they are ready to go again. So if you want to join us, watch for details soon!

and the winner is...

Here are my "boobie prizes"
These are fun clothes pins, they have tons of purposes. I like to clip important things to it on the fridge to keep up with. I modge podged the paper onto the clothes pin, bc we plan to pass these around this year. Then I used the craft ink on top, which worked really well. The stars are in chipboard and I colored them with craft ink as well. Super fun stuff!

GO team SVE

Well, I am honored and excited to be a part of the Team SVE PTA officers for 2008-2009. It is such a fun group of ladies and we have lots of great ideas for the school and students. I can hardly wait to get started. I am going to get to make the PTA scrap book for this school year, as well as be the kindergarten coordinator and other odd jobs. I also get to "dress up" the PTA bulletin board and keep it current. So I am excited that I will get to use my hobby a lot this year. It is interesting how stamping flows into so many other areas.
I can't wait to make my first order from the new catalog! I am so excited. I love this new book!
I will try to get a creative post on later today, but today will end up being all about PTA, I need to make my world famous banana pudding for our meeting tonight, and I have been asked to make some boobie prizes as well. So it should be a fun day!
Here is a picture we took in Austin at our convention... I can't tell you how much I love these ladies.

maybe today

Each day I think my catalogs will come today! And yet I still don't have them. Maybe today!

Tonight for sure I will be have this months tech class. It will feature punches, and new ways to use them to make fun flowers as embellishments. It will be tons of fun. here is a card I made using one of them. It is hard to see the tone on tone stamping on the base of the card bc of poor scan quality. sorry.

SU! has had so many new and exciting announcements lately, I don't know if I can keep them all straight. I will do my best to keep you informed. If you have any questions, please ask, and if I don't know, I will do my best to find the answer. Many people don't like change, I like to think I handle change ok, and overall I do. Embrace the change. One thing they are doing is allowing on line ordering. I understand and appreciate them doing this, however, I don't see this as benefiting my customer base. My customers pretty much have that now! ;) It is less work for me, if someone wants to put in an order in the middle of the night and have it shipped to them, and pay online, done deal. But I like to have the orders to bunch them up and someone gets hostess benefits for it. Many of you have benefited from that, being at my house at the right time, or placing the order that puts it over, you get a hostess set, or freebies. Plus you can't order any of MY SPECIALS through the website. Well, I will say, change is good, and I am sure that this will be a benefit, I just don't see this changing much for me personally. If you have any questions, let me know.
Here's to hoping that I see BROWN today!!!!!!

more deals

Every day there is a new special available. AMAZING! I am so looking forward to the new catalog, I can hardly take it. Hopefully I will get mine soon.
Don't forget the tech class tomorrow night, 7pm. You won't want to miss it, lots of fun things with punches!
The crop was moved to Friday night from 4pm to midnight. I appreciate your flexibility! I am hoping after this month, I will be used to the new medicine and not so pitiful! Until then, I will be pretty iffy on Saturdays!

Here is the newest special: $99 starter kits to become a demo! And you have three options, cards, scrapbooking, home decor!

Here is another super simple card I made with the preview sets.

ATC

You have heard of ATC right? Artist trading cards.
Well, I know lots of people make them and swap them. I never have, but I enjoy seeing other's.
Sweet Susan made me one, she is so amazing.

She told me to make a card with it, so here is my attempt. I don't have any of the soft sky card stock left, so I used the chocolate chip, and the new bella rose designer paper. It is hard to see but I stamped the flower in chocolate chip on the background as well. The phrase is from a new set and stamped in white craft! Thanks Susan for the too cute ATC!

what a day!

Jeremiah loves the Marines, I mean, LOVES the Marines.
A life long friend of Scott's, Charles Sides, is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Marines, and is stationed in North Carolina, but is over the Waco Unit. We have really enjoyed having him visit with us when he is in town. He came through a few weeks ago, and we got a quick visit, but this time, we got to visit more. He took the boys on a tour, which was a dream come true for Jeremiah. Jonathan seemed to really enjoy it as well. I don't know how Scott kept Jeremiah from enlisting today! ;) Hope you enjoy the pictures. Scott said that everyone was really nice. He also got a big kick out of seeing everyone snap to attention for Charles.
