lookie what I have and what it can do!

This is a heavy duty stack cutter!
It can cut little paper pads! It can cut four paper pads at once! With pretty cuts!

It can even cut the spine off a catalog! how cool is that?
I need to get a binding machine now, and I can bind my own books!
I would be happy to cut your pads and hopefully bind catalogs for you in the future. I think I am going to do it like a toll road, charge until it is paid for, then we can have at it! Let me know if you need to cut something huge! (it says 350 sheets)

snow pages

Well, it is done. I am not loving it like I wanted but it is ok.
The left side will be done like the right. I want to try a new technique, and well, I just don't dig it for this. I do love the vellum with white, and the penguins. I am sure that the creative ladies of the club will make fabulous pages! Thanks to Laci for the background snowflake!

funny story, remodel, and more!

Last week's stamp a stack made me a bit overwhelmed. So, yesterday I moved my stuff around. to make it more open. Jeremiah was under foot most of the day because he felt bad. He loves to vacuum and even has his own, so he was obsessed with getting every spot. after about an hour of me moving tables and him following close with the vacuum, he declares, "I can't believe you have me working so hard when I am sick!" That kid!
Well, we love the new arrangement, it is ideal. Dana and I tweaked it last night, this is the final placement.
I have updated my December calendar, take a peek, make notes, RSVP early. I will send the newsletter out the 1st. gotta wait for the retired list! Have a GREAT day!

technique tip

Many of you know Susan and Terri, well we are all often inspired by those two.
This technique came from eavesdropping on the two of them making a card at my house one night! ;)
Stamp your image in any color, and with a q-tip dipped in a different color, pull off part of the ink. For the elephant, I inked her in basic grey, and then took pomegranate on a q-tip and wiped the grey off the ear. For the lion, I inked him in More Mustard, and then dipped my q-tip in chocolate chip and took off the ink on the mane. Super easy, and gives depth! Thanks girls!
Laci, I know what you are thinking, and no, I can't get enough of this set! Love the animals.
Well, I have a child's birthday party at the park to attend! send me warm thoughts!

Getting Ready!

Thank you to all who attended the Stamp a Stack. We had fun, and now know the max capacity of my stamp room ;)!
I would appreciate feedback for future SAS.
Should I offer them more often? Or offer the same SAS on two nights? I hate to limit attendance. Let me know what you think.
Moving on......
Gift Galore class is coming soon! I have one more idea that I don't have supplies for, that you will flip over!
I am going to be rounding up more items if needed, but I need to know what you plan to make.
I have Nancy, Kris, Sharla, Patricia, and Dana officially signed up for the class. I assume others are thinking about it, but need to get through thanksgiving first. Please know that some items have to be ordered and hunted, and I want to accommodate. So as soon as you have time, let me know the amount and item you'd be interested in making so I can make sure to have ample supply for you if possible.
Thanks and have a blessed day. My husband's family are here, and I am ready to relax and enjoy some family time this week. I have much to be thankful for, I am blessed! Enjoy your week! I like to tell brides that their wedding day will be the best day of their lives, even if everything goes wrong! So, I would like to offer, we can make this holiday a best day, even if it all goes wrong, when something happens that we don't anticipate or even want to happen, relax, laugh, make the best of it! easier said I know.... just a thought.

merry Christmas!

Last year Shelli (the SU! head lady) sent each demo a stamp set from the upcoming catalog.
That was such a nice and generous gift. This year, she sent us a stamp set from the January catalog! I think I love it. I can't wait to use it. I cut the rubber out, just need to finish mounting it. It looks spring to me!

I will be out of pocket most of the day. However, if you signed up for STAMP A STACK, I will see you tonight!

card kits

Here are the final cards from the card kits.
I think with ribbon, embelishments, and punches, you can really dress them up! However, I only used kit supplies and a few stamp sets! I made 60 cards in less than two hours!
Thanks again to Lindsey for the template!

great deal!

I got the orders in for the card kits last night. I will start cutting them soon. and getting them to you. I recieved an extra package of the primary colors scrappin' kit. I thought I would take the time to tell you about this great deal. For $19.95 (plus ship and tax) you will get.... 2 each of 4 colors of textured 12 X 12 paper, 3 each of two designs of double sided 12 X 12 papers, and 2 each of 3 designs of self adhesive borders and tags and all kinds of cool goodness!
So many possibilities!
I called them and I will need to send this pack back, unless someone wants to buy it, then I just have to send them money!
So, if anyone would like this scrap kit, primary colors, you can have it for $20! ($3.76 savings!)
Just email me!

Got Chip Board?

I just added craft ink to the chip board pieces! pretty cute and light ornaments!

at last!

Sorry for the delay! It is always chaos at my house, but today may take the cake. Jeremiah, sweet kid, broke a thermometer in his mouth! Luckily it turned out to be a non mercury one. So I suggest to run out and get one of those! Man, this could have been a night mare day!

another calendar

I had a fabulous weekend! Spent most of it in my room! I got some new things made! Because I don't have enough for us to do! ;)

The boys were home from school yesterday, that was fun. They were too sick to go, but too well to stay! poor little boys. I got to take Krista to Nokia to see the live So You Think You Can Dance. Don't worry, it wasn't a conversion, like when we went to see Clay for my first time. But it was lots of fun, those people are serious athletes!

There are so many fun ways to make a cute calendar! I took the calendars from Stamp On This! and put them on a coaster from Stamp on This! and stuck them in a jumbo clip from the office supply place, and added some Stampin' Up! paper and ribbon and wow! how cute!
well, it won't let me upload the picture right now, but look back soon for a photo!

one more

OK, here is one more....

Just let me know which 5 you'd like to make.

Thanks stamp a stackers!

Stamp a Stack

OK, I love the deer card, but I am married to a hunter! Let me know if you can use three of these!
Also, Wild about you has become my all time favorite set!
Of the las two, which do you like, email me and let me know.
scroll down for the other two cards.
You can't hurt my feelings, so if you are a stamp a stacker, tell me like it is! ;)

What a Glorious Day!

It is so easy to get overwhelmed. Sometimes it is easy to forget how busy everyone else is. Sometimes it is easy to get down and think we are all alone. I am here to remind you all, chins up, shoulders back, smile on your face, we can do this! Whatever you are going through today, I pray you find the peace you need to get through it.
The weather is absolutely fabulous, it almost reminds me of Spring. I think that is my favorite time of year. Scott loves the fall, and he has reasons why. Regardless, it is really a pretty day!
I realized today was my dad's birthday, called mom, she is handling it well, but maybe that is why she is coming tomorrow. If you get a chance, remember her.
OK, on with the show.... if you are still reading... This is another card for our stamp a stack. I have found inspiration for the last three cards, and hope to pop them out soon. I also need to get busy and make Krista her birthday card... day late and a dollar short... hope you have a great day and weekend. Do something wonderful! I have my house cleaned for all the happenings here this weekend (stamp club, BMBC craft day, and Scrap club), so I can relax and create!
Have I told you all lately that you mean the world to me? YOU DO!

stamp a stack

Stamp a Stack is full! Thanks ya'll!
This will be one of the cards we will make.
I love the wanted set, and I think my new favorite color combo is Not Quite Navy and Chocolate Chip!
I will be sending out an email to my stackers soon!
Have a great friday!

stamp sets for sale

Please email me at texaskris@grandecom.net if you are interested in any of the sets on this slide show! Thanks!

good friends and good ideas

Is there someone in your life that has just made your life better? Have you told them? You should.
I have many friends that I adore and am so thankful for! If I had all day, I couldn't list them all.
You have heard me mention Kayla, she is my idea scout. She sent me this idea from splitcoast! THANK YOU KAYLA!
This is the cutest thing and so easy! I used the soft sky 12 X 12 paper and my circle punches. Believe it or not, white tic tacs are hard to come by!
wonder who all I can give them to?

Tuesday, November 6, 2007

My good friend Rhonda showed me this a while back. I loved it! And I finally got to make one! Thanks to my in the zone friend, Laci. We had a marathon this weekend. I am so glad to have finally made some things I had been wanting to try. this is super easy, and would be a great place to keep photos for a grandmom, or aunt. these would be perfect for a smaller event, like to chronicle prom, or a weekend get away, or first day of school, confirmation, graduation, you name it! We are truely only limited by our ability to imagine!

having a hard time waiting

I have made so many things this weekend, it is killing me not just posting them all at once!

I am also going to work on my stamp a stack cards soon and have those to post, as well as the kit cards! So much to do..... so much fun to be had! I am so loving this!

At the crop fundraiser, I met a great fellow demo, Katherine. She made these cute little scrap books on a string type things. I loved them. I had the favor tins already, so I whipped one up! Super easy and fun. This would make a great gift!

Two heads are better than one!

I am so excited about this! REALLY!

Laci was here over the weekend, and when I showed her the folders I had made, she said it would be nice to have a card organizer, and we discussed the details. So, then I made one. I am pretty darn happy about it to. As far as I know, it is as an original idea as one can make in this line of craft. Most of what I post are ideas I have seen somewhere or heard about, which is still valid. Anyway, here it is..... The papers on the side are perpetual calendars, and the middle has two pockets that will hold cards and envelopes.

Pictures Help!

I feel better, with the pictures. I think that helps a lot. If you have a culuzzle or a circle and oval cutting system, you might want to bring it to the scrap club.

November Scrap Club layout

OK, so you know I am not a scrapbooker, I guess it would be easier with photos to work with. But I don't have photos for everyone in club... so I jut wing it. I tried some set layouts, and last month I did real simple with lots of open space to work with, and that seemed to be the favorite. So, with that in mind, I made these Christmas pages. Lots of room to do what you'd like with. I will add my photos later, but before the club meets. Let me know what you think! I would love feedback. Help me grow!

Crop Fever!

Kayla had told me about making a mini book from name badges a while back. I finally got to make one! so fun, and easy. It can snap onto your purse, diaper bag, you name it. Portable scrap book! A great gift! I have enought for 4 more, if you would like to make one at the gift classes let me know, so I can be sure to have enough supplies.
